This concert is part of the tribute that the Arriaga Theatre and the BOS wishes to pay to the Bilbao Choral Ensemble to mark its 125th Anniversary.
Among the great maestros that have directed this choir since it began with Cleto Zabala are Aureliano Valle, Jesús Guridi, Arturo Inchausti, Timoteo Urrengoechea, J. M. Olaizola, Modesto Arana, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Juan Cordero, Urbano Ruiz Laorden, Julen Ezkurra, Gorka Sierra, Iñaki Moreno and Joan Cabero.
The list of orchestras and conductors they have sung with is extraordinary. But the list of choir members is even more extraordinary, men and women who have given their time, their holidays, their enthusiasm and their energy in pursuit of a noble aim: music. This concert is also a tribute to them.
